Overview: volunteer surf coaching in Muizenberg, South Africa
This program is run by a small organisation, that was launched in 2015 by a local surf enthusiast, who dreamed of sharing is passion for surfing with the less fortunate kids and youth and give them hope for a better future. Surfing will unlock new character features which will help the children with their personal development. Most kids growing up in the townships of Cape Town don't have much hope for a bright future and try to flee from their socioeconomic environment: with poverty, criminality, drugs and gangsterism as their only way out. These teenagers shall be given alternatives, that will help them to achieve more in their lives and even impact others positively.

"My name is Jana Williams, I am originally from Germany, but living in South Africa for 8 1/2 years. Nearly 6 years of those I stayed in the mother city of Cape Town. I am now managing all internship and volunteer placements for Studentsgoabroad Cape Town. During my studies of Social Work I did internships abroad myself. I have been to London, India and even in Cape Town which was 12 years ago. While still living in Germany I started placing interns in Southern African countries and always enjoyed this activity. This activity is interesting, exciting, versatile and most of all positive, as a stay abroad always enlarges the personal horizon.
